It’s ya booooooooy
What up everybody, quick update here.
We have two shows coming up that we have or will have tickets to. The first of which is our show with PERIPHERY, SCALE THE SUMMIT and FAIR TO MIDLAND. It’s on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 30th at the SMILING MOOSE and doors are at SIX PM. We’re not sure if we’re the only opener or not, so get there at 6 so you can catch us play but be sure to stay because this show is going to be shred-heavy. Periphery are some of the people we look up to the most and we’re stoked to share stage with them. This show is all ages and tickets are only TWELVE bucks from us, so pick one up off any one of us. If you need to send us a facebook message and we’ll make sure to get you a ticket.
The next show we’re playing is with THE CRIMSON ARMADA, LEGACY and LEGION. This show is gonna be balls out heavy and it’s at STAGE AE, which is the biggest venue we’ve ever played, on MONDAY, APRIL 18th. We don’t have tickets or concrete info on this show yet, but mark it down and call it off so you’re ready when it comes time to throw down.
Last but not least, we are entering in the 15th annual WARPED TOUR BATTLE OF THE BANDS. This contest will earn us a slot on the upcoming Pittsburgh warped tour if we win, and if we win big we could play the whole damn thing along with a ton of other cool shit such as recording, merch and endorsements. SO if you’re really trying to help out Drop Top to Dallas make sure you go and vote because it starts TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT.
As usual, we (Andy) are working on new songs to bring you guys and hopefully we’ll have new songs down to play at all of these shows. Keep showing us feedback on our Facebook, contact us any way you can and for fucks sake VOTE FOR US
Peace, DTTD

Anonymous asked: why didnt you follow me back :C
This is an awfully dumb question to ask anonymously! Look’s like we’ll have to do some trial and error.

Punching Bears in the Face.

Suppppppp dudes. So listen, we don’t update this shit enough but that’s generally because we have nothing to say. We’ll try and keep you guys as up to date as possible on our happy happenings
SHOWS!
Our CD release show on January 14th went great. We can’t thank everyone enough for coming out and supporting us and buying tickets, shirts and CD’s. That’s awesome guys, that’s honestly why we’re doing this. Also a big thanks to our dudes in A Million Pieces, Beyond Daylight, Oh No! The Afterlife and Curse the Sky. Everyone absolutely crushed it and we were mad lucky to get such a solid lineup.
As a reaction to our CD release show, we got asked to play 50 Caliber Dream’s comeback show with our newfound bro’s in Curse the Sky so we obviously said yes, what are you, fucking stupid? It was a free 21+ show but we were again overwhelmed by the support we got from our older audience, you guys showed up in throngs to support us again and that means so much to each and everyone of us. This was also the last time we would be performing the Tearjerker EP in it’s entirety.
We have an upcoming show at the Smiling Moose on March 30th with what might be our biggest influence: PERIPHERY on their support tour with Scale the Summit and Fair to Midland! We’re very excited about this show and are working to debut TWO BRAND NEW songs (off our upcoming full-length) at this show! Tickets are 12 large and you can get them off any of us. This promises to be an incredible show, and headlining bands aside; if you’re a true DROP TOP fan you’ll be at this show to be a part of the world premier of two new Drop Top to Dallas tracks.
In addition to this, we just booked a show as well on Friday, April 18th with our new and hopefully long lasting friends in the Artery Foundation. We’re playing with the Crimson Armada and Legion, so any fan of heavy fucking metal make it out and dance. We’ll have more details to come.
MERCH:
As you know we have two, well oiled, merch websites running to serve your DTTD needs. First is our BANDCAMP, the website where you can purchase and download our ‘Tearjerker’ EP in any audio format, directly and iPod/CD ready. The 2nd being our STORENVY website where you can order a physical copy of the CD as well as T-Shirts and Stickers. We’re starting to run low on T-Shirts so if you want one, cast your order now before it’s too late! The next wave of shirts won’t be the same, so get in on your chance to own the first official DTTD shirt!
We are currently writing for our full length album, which is tentatively due out in summer of 2011
This the best part about playing music for us. The chance to create and put everything we feel on canvas for our fans is a feeling that’s completely unsurpassed. We’re exploring studio options at this point, trying to find a place that will suit our sound well at a price we can afford. We loved the response to Tearjerker (for being recorded in a basement) and took all of the criticism for it into account as we write a CD that we believe will truly showcase what we as a band are capable of, and that you as fans want to hear. We released a teaser of the finished material we have so far on our Facebook page, if you click the bandpage tab. It’s so awesome that this teaser has more plays than almost any track previously released and take that as a good indicator that we’re on the right track. As a fan, bear in mind that we take everything you guys have to say into account when we write and perform music. If you have any suggestions or questions for us feel free to ask us here, on the Facebook, or on our Twitter.
That’s about all we’ve got for now. Keep it metal, and for fucks sake talk to us. We’re all bored most of the time, and we’ll definitely respond. If you’ve got something to say, put it out in front of us. We love to write and play music but without you that’s a dream that’s not possible on a public scale.
Stay up, DTTD

Back in the Saddle
What’s up everybody. Just giving a quick update here with some band news. As some of you know our good friend Sam has decided to leave us. No bad blood, he’s just pursuing personal interests. With that said we’ve been searching for the replacement and have decided on the wildly talented Gabriel Mangold. Gabe came in and totally melted face in about .4 seconds so the rest was just tricking him into thinking we’re cool. This decision disagrees with our newest promo shot, we kind of jumped the gun with the last guy, but you can expect to see some stuff with Gabe coming up. I know we’ve seen a lot of changes with this band since it started in May but Andy, Brent and I (Ty) finally feel comfortable with this five piece set up again, and it’s time to put in some work.
Just to beat a dead horse as well, make sure every single last one of you are at our CD Release Show on FRIDAY, JANUARY 14th at MR. SMALLS in Pittsburgh. This show is gonna be a fucking party, we’re playing with a shit ton of our friends:
Curse the Sky, A Million Pieces, Beyond Daylight, Oh No! The Afterlife and our friends all the way from New York City: Eye Am Legion. On Sunday, January 16th we’re co-headlining Eye Am Legion’s CD release party in Long Island, New York so if we happen to have any fans in the greater New York City area, make sure to make it out!
Next bit of big news. After what feels like months of mixing, mastering, recording, re-recording, lineup changes, spontanious combustion and other things, we’re FINALLY done with our first 5-Track EP: TEARJERKER. We feel each track has it’s own style and feel and we’re extremely proud of the end result. The physical copy of this CD will become available at our CD release show on 1.14.2011. The digital download of the full album is now available at our newly renovated bandcamp website. That’s right, you can now download the full finished Tearjerker EP at http://droptoptodallas.bandcamp.com so go get on it everybody! In addition to the digital copy being available online, you can preorder the physical copy as well our new T-SHIRTS and other merch on our NEW STORENVY page at: http://droptoptodallas.storenvy.com/ !! FINALLY A WAY TO GIVE YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL BAND SOME SKRILL, RIGHT!?

Smell that…
Sup bros and hos! We’ve been quiet for a minute, so check it out we’ve got a lot to cover, including new shows, new songs, new members and new merch; also tits, acid and fire.
First and foremost, we lost two good soldiers in the past few months of silence from us. We’ve parted with our dear bro’s Ryan and Greg and we absolutely wish these dudes the best, and we’re definitely thankful for time spent with them.
Now, as some of you may or may not have noticed/don’t care we have a new face of the band: our new frontman Brent Vaccaro. If anybody has heard the new tracks on the facebook/reverbnation/purevolume etc; that’s Brent doing all the yapping, while Andy has taken up the clean yapping.
Our second new hero is our resident beaner and walking stereotype: Nathen Velez. Nate’s taking up the bass spot with some hard kicking dweedles and bass slides with sides of rice, guac and beans.
As I said above, you guys may have been hearing some new material from us. It’s all off of our upcoming EP: [Doesn’t have a name yet]!! And we’re very excited about it. The CD should be done and ready for distribution by mid to late December.

WE ALSO FINALLY GOT SHIRTS MADE WOOOOOOO! Check this shit out

These bad boys are leaving the warehouse December 5th and will be up for sale the following week. You can get ahold of us at DropToptoDallas@Gmail.com or send anyone of us a Facebook message to grip up either one of these puppies or put in a preorder. Prices to be posted later this week.
We’ve got two shows coming up, the first of which is our CD RELEASE SHOW at MR. SMALLS in Pittsburgh on FRIDAY, JANUARY 14th. Tickets are only 8 bucks when you grab them from us, or 10 at the door. Doors are at 6PM, show starts at 7. We need to really pack the house so sincerely from all of us: Call off work and be there, or we will seriously kill you…seriously. We’re playing this date with our dudes in Oh No! The Afterlife, Beyond Daylight and Eye Am Legion as well others.
The next show after that is Eye Am Legion’s CD release show, and we’ll be traveling to the big apple for this one. It’s at Broadway Bar in Amityville, NY (So if we have any fans in the NYC/Long Island area, be there or be square). Tickets for this one are 10 from any of us and 12 at the door and we’re playing with a ton of sick bands.

Lastly and definitely most importantly, this announcement forces us to rely heavily on every fan we have’s support. As of tomorrow we will be in an eligible candidate to tour ten dates on the Rock Yourself to Sleep tour with WE CAME AS ROMANS/THE WORD ALIVE/TEXAS IN JULY and WOE, IS ME. It’s a completely vote based competition so what we need you guys to do is to go to http://www.rockyourselftosleep.com/login.aspx ; sign up and vote for us a thousand million times a day and tell EVERY PERSON YOU’VE EVER MET to do the same. We really need your support here, it would be an amazing experience.
That’s about all on the Drop Top minute, we’ll be coming at you with more frequent updates from now on, and I promise by the new year someone will have a video camera so you can watch us get drunk on film.
